Seminar participants learn the essentials of social networking including:
·How to use social networking sites such as Facebook
to enhance communication within their congregation,
·How to use social networking to expand outreach into the community
·How to easily create a private social network for the congregation
that focuses on mission, ministry, and community
·How to start and use a blog
·How and why ministers should use Twitter
The seminar provides an introduction to a mode of communication that is
increasingly popular with adults of every generation.
The Pew Internet and American Life Project reported in December 2008
that the number of online adults using social networks has quadrupled
in the past four years and that more than half of online adults age 25-34 years
have a profile on a social network site.
